Colm Kenny announced his resignation last month.
Kfm understands that the Convenor of the Naas Green Party Cumann, Bob Quinn, is to replace Colm Kenny as a Councillor on the Naas Municipal District.
Mr Kenny, who was co-opted onto Kildare County Council in June 2020 following Vincent P Martin's appointment as a Senator, resigned his position last month.
He told party members that he was resigning “with a heavy heart as it was an absolute privilege and honour to serve my native community as their public representative.”
He further went on to say: “I will continue to work for my community, striving for a greener, cleaner Kildare, but no longer in the capacity as a county councillor.”
Kfm has learned from its sources that Mr Kenny's replacement will now be Bob Quinn, with an official announcement expected as early as this week, when it is ratified by the Party Executive.
