The road was closed for a time this afternoon
An area of Sallins has reopened this evening after a suspicious device was made safe earlier today.
Gardai and the Army Bomb Disposal unit were called to the scene of the device at approximately 3:30pm.
People in the area were evactuated while a controlled explosion was carried out.
It's believed the device was historical in nature and the area has now been made safe.
