A gang of seven masked criminals attempted a burglary at a family's home in south Dublin, leaving the residents "shaken."
Gardaí are investigating whether the gang stole three cars, including a grey VW Golf and a white and silver BMW, from a house in Hartwell Green, Kill, at around 3:30 a.m this morning.
It's understood that the gang stole keys to the cars from the home in Kill while it was occupied.
The stolen vehicles may have been used to carry out additional burglaries, including an aggravated burglary at the Dublin property at 4:45 a.m. while the family was sleeping.
According to the Irish Independent, the gang are then believed to have travelled just over 50km to Redcross in Wicklow, where a number of attempted burglaries and one break-in happened at around 6am.
