There was a significant increase in incidents of fraud reported to Kildare Gardai during the second quarter of this year.
The Central Statistics Office has released recorded crime data, for the period April to June, under reservation
137 fraud, deception and related offences were reported in Kildare in Quarter One.
That jumped to 154 in Quarter Two.
A total of 154 such incidents were reported during the first 6 months of 2020.
Nationally, fraud crimes increased by more than 40 per cent in the year to June, mainly because of fraudulent attempts to obtain personal or banking information online or by phone.
