A motorist had a fortunate escape this morning after a tree fell on their car in Celbridge during the Status Red storm warning.
Emergency services, already grappling with "extremely difficult conditions," responded to the incident around 6 a.m. on the R403 (Clane Road) near Celbridge.
Gardaí and first responders arrived at the scene, where they found the tree had fallen directly onto the vehicle.
