Works expected to last until 6am Wednesday morning
Essential water main upgrade works will take place in Naas from 10pm tonight, until tomorrow, Wednesday, 19th October at 6am.
Irish Water notes the works, in partnership with Kildare County Council, will "safeguard the water supply for homes & businesses in Naas."
The works are part of the body's National Leakage Reduction Programme.
It's noted "during these works, customers in Naas and surrounding areas may experience intermittent interruptions to their water supply to include low pressure and/or outages."
Irish Water note supply will be maintained to Naas General Hospital.
It also advised that “vulnerable customers who have registered with Irish Water will receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours. Typically, it takes two to three hours following restoration time for normal supply to be fully restored to all areas.”
The utility company aims to reduce the "frequency of bursts" in Naas & better manage water pressure issues in the town.
Joe Carroll, Regional Delivery Lead at Irish Water said: “Irish Water understands that this type of work can be inconvenient and working in partnership with Kildare County Council, we will make every effort to minimise the disruption that these necessary works may cause.”
Carroll added: “Customers may experience some temporary discolouration of water following the works and occasionally issues such as internal airlocks may arise."
