The application is for a 17 hectare site in Confey.
An extension of the lifetime of planning permission for a solar farm in Kildare is being sought.
Solas Éireann already has leave to install 38,600 photovoltaic panels on ground mounted frames on a 16.91 hectare site in Confey, Leixlip.
That permission is close to withering, and it has asked Kildare County Council to extend it.
A decision is due on December 6th.
The development description is as follows:
"Extension of Duration of Planning Ref. No. 16/848 - a solar PV panel array with an export capacity of 10MW comprising approximately 38, 600 photovoltaic panels on ground mounted frames within a site area of 16.91 hectares, 7 No. single storey MV substations, 1 No. single storey DSO substation, 1 No. single storey customer substation, 1 No. single storey spares building, 1 No. communications pole, boundary security fencing, CCTV, associated electrical cabling and ducting, alteration to existing entrance to include access gates and all associated ancillary development works. Revised by Significant Further Information which includes submission of a Natura Impact Statement; submission of road safety audit, swept path analysis and visibility splay drawings; revised location of communications pole as shown on the revised Customer Building Drawing; Revised DSO and MV Building Drawings; Revised Site Layout drawings; Revised Environmental Impact Assessment Screening Report, on land south of the L1015 road
