According to the closure order, "adequate procedures were not in place to control pests"

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) today reported that 12 Enforcement Orders were served on food businesses during the month of June for breaches of food safety legislation, pursuant to the FSAI Act, 1998 and the European Union (Official Controls in Relation to Food Legislation) Regulations, 2020.

The Enforcement Orders were issued by Environmental Health Officers in the Health Service Executive (HSE) and officers of the FSAI.

One such order was a closure order on Mizzoni's Pizza Café, Unit 4, Sentinel Building in Adamstown, Lucan.

According to the closure order, "adequate procedures were not in place to control pests" and there was "evidence of rodent activity in the dry goods area of the kitchen, in front of the ice cream service area and in the front counter service area."

The inspector states that this indicated the "premises was not being maintained in a clean condition" and that the "absence of adequate procedures for controlling pests gives rise to serious risk of contamination to food stuffs, food preparation areas and storage areas in the food business."

The closure order was served in June, until issues were rectified, and the premises has since reopened.
