The community of Robertstown is mourning the loss of Kedagh Moore, a 16-year-old tragically killed in an alleged hit-and-run accident.
Kedagh was struck by a car in the early hours of November 10th on the R403 in Blackwood, near Robertstown.
He is deeply regretted by his parents, Glenda and John, his sister Sadhbh, his grandparents Esther and John, and his extended family and friends.
Kedagh was a popular student at Scoil Mhuire Community School in Clane and was actively involved with Clane United Football Club, where he was known as a "terrific young man."
In an online tribute, the club expressed their profound grief, sharing, “Our condolences, thoughts, and prayers are extended to the Moore family as they come to terms with this shocking loss."
As part of the ongoing investigation, Gardaí are currently questioning a man in his 40s in connection with the incident.
He may be detained for up to 24 hours.

A postmortem is scheduled for today, and arrangements have been made to honour Kedagh’s memory.
Reposing will take place at Oliver Reilly’s Funeral Home in Prosperous on Thursday, November 14, from 4 to 8 pm, with prayers at 7 pm.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11 am on Friday, November 15, at The Church of Our Lady and Saint Joseph, Prosperous, followed by burial at St. Benignus Cemetery in Staplestown.
