On Tuesday 6th December, in the Sallins Wood Area of Naas, a man called to a house between 8.30am - 9am claiming to be a plain clothes Garda.
The culprit entered the house and told the occupant that he was investigating fraud in the area, the man handed over a sum of cash, which he was told would be "taken away for examination."
