Monies needed to complete the amenity from Sallins.
There are high hopes a Kildare County Council funding application will secure monies to complete the Grand Canal Greenway in the county.
The walking and cycle route runs from Grand Canal Dock in Dublin, to Shannon Harbour in Offaly.
€1.7 million has already been secured to create the amenity between Dublin and Sallins.
An application for funding to complete the rest of the greenway in Kildare was unsuccessful.
Fine Gael Cllr., Brendan Wyse, speaking to Kildare Today, says KCC is preparing another application.
Cllr. Wyse joined Clem Ryan on Wednesday's edition of the programme.
