KCC has opened files on 96 cases.
Kildare County Council has launched 96 investigations in to littering & dumping in the Celbridge/Leixlip Municipal District.
All inquiries arose from complaints issued this year.
Responding to a motion by Fianna Fáil Cllr., Michael Coleman, KCC says it has issued just 8 fines.
The council, replying to Green Cllr., Vanessa Liston, says its street litter collection system is "under extreme pressure due to the volume of waste being left at or in bin street bins."
It empties one 14 cubic metre skip every week full of street bin waste from Celbridge and one from Leixlip.
KCC says "This costs in the region of €25,000 just on skips per annum,"
