It Could Be Mid 2022 Before M4 Kildare Up-Grade Options Are Presented To Councillors

It could be mid-2022 before options for up-grade of the M4 are presented to councillors.

Kildare County Council says they could be ready in Quarter One, or Quarter Two.

A third lane, or a bus lane, are being considered for the section between Leixlip and Maynooth, in both directions

There are also issues with capacity at the Maynooth interchanges, which are operating at "140% capacity".

An additional interchange, between Maynooth and Kilcock, is under consideration.

Fine Gael Cllr., Tim Durkan, has been speaking to Kildare Today.
