It Could Be Months Before More Progress Is Made On New Social Housing In Leixlip Town Centre.

Kildare County Council acquired the former ESB lands off Main Street in 2005/2006.

It could be another 6 months before there is movement on social housing provision on a town centre site in Leixlip.

Kildare County Council acquired the former ESB lands off Main Street in 2005/2006.

It lay idle for over a decade, and was subsequently accorded to Cluid Housing Agency, following a tender process.

Two separate feasibility studies have been conducted on the site, most recently last year

Up to 24 homes are to be delivered there

Fine Gael Cllr. Joe Neville, raised the matter at the October meeting of the Celbridge Leixlip Municipal District.

He says KCC's response is disappointing.
