It won't apply in houses not in Kildare County Council's charge.
Its hoped Jake's Law will be implemented throughout Kildare by the end of the year.
This will reduce the speed limit in all estates in Kildare County Council's charge to 30 kilometres per hour.
Fianna Fail Cllr in the Naas MD, Carmel Kelly, is welcoming the introduction of the law.
She says, however, that there should be a mechanism to include estates which don't fall under KCC's auspices.
