INMO:50 nursing posts are unavailable to cover frontline services at the Kildare facility.

A Kildare Councillor has shared a visceral account of the extraordinary pressure under which staff at Naas General Hospital are working.

Yesterday, the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation said around 50 nursing posts are unavailable to cover frontline services at the Kildare facility.

The organisation says it has received what is says are "warnings from staff about unsafe clinical environments and staffing levels."

It held an emergency meeting of Naas General Hospital nurse managers yesterday.

Fianna Fáil Clane Maynooth Cllr., Darragh Fitzpatrick, was admitted to Naas on Sunday morning.

Speaking to Kildare Today, he says its hearbreaking to watch staff try to cope.

Cllr. Fitzpatrick joined Eoin Beatty on Wednesday's edition of Kildare Today
