Kildare Students Secure Nine BT Young Scientist Awards

Celbridge, Monasterevin and Newbridge pupils among those celebrating.

There have been nine Kildare winners at this year’s BT Young Scientist awards.

Celbridge Community School pupil Addison Carey, and Joanna Lips of Newbridge College both collected individual awards.

Teams from Newbridge College and St Paul’s Secondary School in Monasterevin, were also recognised for projects on ‘the rising cost of living’, ‘a person’s ability to follow written instruction’; and an investigation into ‘the affect of plastic chemicals’.

The Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition continues at the RDS in Dublin until 5 pm this evening.

Limerick student Sean O'Sullivan, won the overall prize for his 'AI' project “verify me”

Exhibition head 'Mari Calahane' says it's a fantastic achievement.
