M7/M9 Junction Safety Review To Be Carried Out Following Series Of Crashes

The review aims to address the increasing number of accidents and implement solutions that will enhance the safety of road users.

Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) is set to undertake a review of the M7/M9 junction to determine necessary measures for improving road safety.

The decision follows a series of serious road collisions at the junction in recent months, raising concerns among commuters and local residents.

The review aims to address the increasing number of accidents and implement solutions that will enhance the safety of road users.

Kildare South Labour TD Mark Wall said urgent needs to be taken to ensure that funds for road improvement projects are allocated with a priority on safety.

He said the the focus should be on road safety enhancements and junction tightening, with secondary concerns directed toward alleviating congestion in towns and villages through bypasses, followed by regional connectivity improvements.
