More than 250 school leaders were involved in the research
A study by Maynooth University has found post-primary school principals feel the pandemic teaching experience has made the case for urgent reform of State exams
More than 250 school leaders were involved in the research.
It found no differences in their wellbeing before Covid-19 and a year later although they did experience more stress during the pandemic.
A majority are seeking changes to assessment of pupils, with the Leaving Cert most frequently mentioned.
Their three priorities for the Leaving Cert were to decouple it from third level entry, explore some kind of modularisation and the need for elements of continuous assessment.
