There have been calls on Junior Minister James Browne to take urgent action to stop family pets being stolen.
Mind your dogs.
That's the warning following reports of dogs being 'stolen to order' across Kildare.
Locals have taken to social media to highlight the dangers, with one dog understood to have been stolen and later dumped out of a car nearby.
It's understood the culprits only released the dog after images of their vehicle was shared online.
Lisa O'Connor, from 'Missing Stolen Animals Ireland', told Kfm that thousands of dogs are taken from Irish homes every year.
She has called on Junior Minister James Browne to take urgent action to stop family pets being 'stolen to order'.
She said the Minister promised new legislation over 4 years ago - but nothing's happened since.
Almost 3,000 people have signed a Facebook petition calling for new anti pet-theft laws.
