KCC's 2018 application for a North Kildare swimming pool was unsuccessful.
The Sports Minister says his department is considering a new call for proposals for large scale sports infrastructure, such as a pool in North Kildare.
The region has been without a swimming pool since Maynooth University closed its facility in 2015.
Kildare County Council submitted an application for monies for a pool under the Large Scale Sport Infrastructure Fund in 2018.
That application failed, partially, its understood, as the land for which KCC applied for funding was not in its ownership.
Minister, Jack Chambers, says "As part of the review, my Department is also considering the timing of any new call for proposals and it is expected that the review will be completed in the coming months."
