Cyclists are being reminded that it's a legal requirement to have lights on their bike when it's dark out or they face a fine.
The use of bike lights is a legal requirement during lighting up time, which is from 30 minutes after sunset until 30 minutes before sunrise.
The reminder comes as the Naas Roads Policing unit issed a cyclist with a fine for having no front or rear lights on their bike.
The fine for no front lamp or rear lamp lit during lighting-up hours on a pedal cycle is €40.
While on patrol, Naas Roads Policing observed this pedal cyclist in dark clothing with no front or rear lights. FCPN issued.
