Playground, Boardwalk & Skatepark Proposed For Maynooth's Harbour Field.

A public consultation on the redevelopment of Maynooth's Harbour Field, to include a playground, boardwalk and skate-park, is open

Kildare County Council also wants to develop an adult gym there, and install a new formal lawn

The plans have gone on public display at KCC offices and its website.

People are invited to comment on the proposal until November 16th.

Kildare County Council proposes to carry out the following works –

• The construction of a new feature playground

• Construction of a new path network through the park

• Removal of large stone clad bund between the park and the canal

• Development of a 4meter wide boardwalk adjacent to the Royal Canal

• Development of a new concrete skate park with associated pump track

• Construction of new formal lawn area with terraced seating edges

• Development of adult gym area with associated parkour equipment

• Associated site development works and connection to existing site services.

KCC says "Plans and particulars of the proposed development, including AA and EIA Screening Reports, will be available for inspection or purchase at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy at:

Kildare County Council, Aras Chill Dara, Devoy Park, Naas, Co. Kildare, W91 X77F, from 9.30 am – 4.30 pm Monday to Friday for a period from the 5th October 2021 to the 2nd November 2021.
