The group have been given assurances that no construction works will take place in the interim.
The protest against 30 Modular Homes planned for Lakeside Park/Highfield/Dara Park in Newbridge on Saturday has been cancelled.
In a statement, the LHD action group commented: "Given very recent developments, we wish to inform you that the protest planned in Newbridge tomorrow against the development of 30 modular homes on our green area, has now been postponed pending a meeting with Minister Roderic O’Gorman and the OPW (Office of Public Works)."
The group has said they have been told that they will be contacted by Minister O’Gorman’s Office with a meeting date by Tuesday 6th September.
The group have been given assurances from the Minister that no construction works will take place in the interim.
Group member, Tom Mc Donald has said he welcomes the commitment from the minister to engage with the LHD Action Group, and they are hopeful for a successful outcome.
