A public consultation is open regarding the rehabilitation of Prosperous Bog.
The bog is located 1km north-west of the town & is part of the Bord na Móna Kilberry Bog Group.
The works are part of the rehabilitation improvements being undertaken by the group.
According to Bord na Mona they are "obliged to carry out peatland rehabilitation via an IPC License issued by the Environmental protection
Agency".
The aim of the rehabilitation is environmental stabilisation.
The Draft Rehabilitation Plan and associated Map Book for the Bog is available here.
Submissions can be emailed to pcasinfo@bnm.ie, before 2nd February 2022.
