Cllr Tracey O Dwyer brought forward the motions at the Kildare Newbridge MD.
The council has said it will carry out a public lights audit in Bishop Rogan Estate, Kilcullen.
Cllr Tracey O'Dwyer of Fine Gael brought forward the motion and said that there appears to be a few blackspots.
She said it is particularly bad in one location where there are a number of steps up to the houses and currently there is no light at this location.
The Public Lighting Section will visit the location of the requested new street light, and it will then be assessed using a priority system within Kildare Lighting Infrastructure Priority Schedule (KLIPS).
Lighting schemes will be scored on various factors and placed within KLIPS according to that score. The lighting within KLIPS will be installed as and when funds become available and depending on where the request sits within KLIPS.
Cllr O'Dwyer asked that the council carry out a landscaping survey on a considerable section of land owned by Kildare County Council at the Two-Mile House/Brannockstown Junction on the R448 Naas/Kilcullen Road.
The council has sais it will carry out an assessment of the location in conjunction with the Roads Area Engineer to see what if any landscape treatment may be possible.
She has asked Kildare County Council to consider reinstating the lights at the pelican crossing at the library in Kilcullen and inserting a dished section in the path to make it easier for wheelchair users to cross to the library.
The council has said a temporary Zebra crossing point was provided at this location as part of works to facilitate the closure of the footpath, this was removed by the developer when works were completed.
It shall investigate the suitability of the location for an uncontrolled crossing point with dished kerbs etc.
