The union says now is not the time to be privatising a vital waste collection service when Ireland is set to miss its EU recycling targets.
The next Government is being warned that allowing Bord Na Mona Recycling, headquartered in Newbridge, to be sold will have negative consequences for the Midlands.
That's the call from Siptu which will voice opposition to the sale in a meeting with local Fianna Fail TD's this morning.
