The plans - which would result in a saving of about 125 euro per table - are going before the Oireachtas committee for local government this afternoon.

Street furniture fees for local restaurants are set to be waived for the rest of the year.

Minister Darragh O'Brien says he's "very glad" to waive the licence fees, to remove the "financial burden" they can place on small cafés and restaurants.
