Squeeze In A Read On National Day Of Reading

Friday 25th February.

National Day of Reading takes place on Friday the 25th February.

Kildare County Council Libraries are encouraging everyone across the county to take part in reading on this day.

Amye Quiqley from KCC Libraries commented: "There are so many benefits to reading for wellbeing.

"Reading for pleasure can enhance empathy, increase sense of self and can combat loneliness.

"We are asking people to squeeze in a read on the 25th," she said.

Libraries across Kildare are now back open without appointment.

"You can also register for library membership online and it's free," she added.

Late fees have been abolished in libraries across Kildare.

People who want to get involved can visit the website Ireland Reads.

The website has been designed to recommend books based on your level, and for how long you want to read.
