Newbridge

This year, Newbridge embarks on a two-day St. Patrick's Day celebration. On Sunday, the town will host its annual St. Patrick's Day Parade, themed 'Kildare Legends.' The festivities kick off with a motor parade at 11:45 am, followed by the main parade commencing at 12 noon.

St. Patrick's Day offers a platform for showcasing community talent, ranging from performing arts groups like Stage Academy, Leah Moran’s, and the esteemed Newbridge Musical Society to local sports stalwarts such as Sarsfields and Moorefield Club. Expect an array of entertainment and support for participants throughout the parade.

On Monday, the 18th, you can enjoy a day of racing, music, and merriment at the Curragh Racecourse, with the first race starting at 1:35 pm.

Athy

Athy's St. Patrick's Day Parade sets off at 3 pm on Sunday, traversing Duke Street and Leinster Street with floats, performers, and vehicles. This year's grand marshals are the Athy Kare Special Olympics and Cha Chanders, with junior grand marshals including Adam Barry, Megan Keating, Jane Foley, Little Blue Hero, and Tyson Nolan.
