Contractors are being sought for the construction of Stage One of the Edenderry Inner Relief Road.
The route is designed to funnel chronic traffic congestion out of the town centre.
Ths section of the route will be constructed between the Clonmullen Drive road (L-50432-1) and the Fr. McWey Road, (L-1028-1) just north of Edenderry Town.
The tender indicated works will comprise
(1)The installation of traffic calming works to Clonmullen Drive
(2) The installation of a new traffic light junction to the Clonmullen Drive / Clonmullen Lane (L-5034-1) junction & all associated works (
3) The construction of 350m of new road from Clonmullen Drive to tie into the existing road at Clonmeen Rise (L-5044-1), works to include fencing, earthworks, new pavement, footpaths, drainage, services, etc., & other related works
(4) Road re-modelling works to the existing road at Clonmeen Rise and all associated works.
(5) The installation of a new traffic light junction to the Clonmeen Rise / Fr. McWey Road / St. Conleths road junction (R401-1)
(6) Re-Alignment of the Fr. Mc Wey road as required, & other associated works necessary for the successful completion of the project.
The deadline for submissions is June 18th.
