Cllr. Weld attended his final Clane-Maynooth MD meeting last week
Tributes have been paid to Fine Gael Cllr. Brendan Weld, who has officially retired, following 20 years of service.
First elected in 2004, Cllr. Weld served as Mayor of Kildare on two occasions and met the Dalai Lama and Queen Elizabeth II during his tenure.
Fellow councillors, Senators, TDs and Council officials have been contacting Kfm for the past number of hours, extending best wishes to Cllr. Weld.
A resident of Painstown near Donadea, he thanked his constituents in Donadea, Staplestown, Coill Dubh, Timahoe, Rathcoffey and further afield for electing him since 2004.
