Unused Buildings Could Help Kildare’s Homeless Crisis

141 people were homeless in Kildare last month.

Unused buildings could be the answer to Kildare’s homeless crisis.

New figures show 141 people were homeless in the county last month.

That's an increase of four on November.

Nationwide 8,914 people were homeless in December, a drop of 2 percent on the previous month.

The Peter McVerry Trust is concerned over the number of single people on the streets.

CEO Pat Doyle says they want to deliver more homes to rural towns by using unused buildings.
