Parades and commemoration ceremonies are taking place across the country
Around 150 emergency service vehicles took part in a 'Parade of Light' in Dublin this morning, to mark National Services Day.
The day recognises the work of emergency and frontline workers, and has been held on the first Saturday of September since 2018.
Parades, wreath-laying events and commemoration ceremonies are to take place across the country throughout the day.
Junior Justice Minister, James Browne, says frontline workers have shown great resilience over the past 12 months:
Happy National Services Day !!!
