A public consultation has begun
20,000 new houses are to be build in Cork and its surrounding areas between 2022 and 2028.
It's part of a development plan for the city which aims to counterbalance Dublin's economic dominance.
The population of the area is to grow by 125,000 by 2040.
Billions of euro from the Government is to be pumped into housing and transport in Cork over the next 20 years.
