Over 600 people sought international protection in Ireland this month
Some 650 people have arrived in Ireland seeking international protection so far this month.
The numbers arriving are well below last year's record numbers.
So far in the month of March 650 people arrived in Ireland seeking international protection.
In the same month last year, 1,625 asylum seekers arrived here.
Meanwhile according to the Department of Integration; 37% of the new arrivals this month were single males, 15% were single females.
Families; either couples with children or lone parents with children, accounted for 52% of the new arrivals in March.
Over 2,500 people have come to Ireland so far this year seeking international protection.
