A survey by the Coach Tourism and Transport Council of Ireland ,found almost all of its members say that spiralling fuel prices mean its not commercially viable to continue running services without any Government support.
The CTTC is now calling for an immediate VAT cut on fuel to 9%.
Fergal Barton of Barton's Coaches Maynooth has revealed to KFM that there has been 30- 40% increase in fuel costs, and that many of the contracts are not covering the basic costs.
"We're operating at a loss," he insisted.
