Calls For Aer Lingus To Appear At Oireachtas Transport Committee

The airline cancelled more than 100 flights last week.

There are calls for Aer Lingus to appear before the Oireachtas Transport Committee.

Fine Gael Senator Jerry Buttimer says the airline’s Chief Executive and senior management should come into Leinster House after thousands of passengers have been left stranded

The airline cancelled more than 100 flights last week alone, citing a spike in covid cases amongst their staff.

Criticising the airline's handling of the situation, Senator Buttimer says their lack of communication is unacceptable.

Meanwhile an American tourist says she is heartbroken after luggage containing her parent's ashes failed to arrive at Dublin Airport.

Donna O'Connor from Chicago had planned to scatter the remains of her Irish-American parents in Co.Mayo.

The 67 year-old has spent the last week going back and forth to the Airport in a desperate bid to locate her luggage.

The Dublin Airport Authority says Airlines are responsibility for lost luggage.
