Campaign Begins In The US, Seeking To Attract Tourists To Ireland.

The US was Ireland's most valuable tourism market, pre-pandemic.

A major campaign's getting under way in the US today aimed at attracting American tourists to Ireland.

Tourism Ireland  are stateside to begin promoting Ireland as a holiday destination.

The US was Ireland's most valuable tourism market pre-pandemic, accounting for more than a quarter of all revenue, at 1.6 billion euro.

CEO of Tourism Ireland, Niall Gibbons, says it's vital there's a strong return in growth from the American market:

The Tourism Minister Catherine Martin is in the US today to take part in the launch

Meetings in the coming days include lunches in New York and Chicago, a visit to the Ryder Cup at Whistling Straits and discussions with Milwaukee Irish Fest organisers.
