An addition of 6 cent will be put on a litre of petrol while 5 cent will be added to a litre of diesel.
The Consumers Association of Ireland is calling on the Government to think again before re-imposing excise duty on petrol and diesel next Thursday.
An addition 6 cent will be put on a litre of petrol while five cent will be added to a litre of diesel to reverse the cost of living measures imposed in March of last year.
Further increases in fuel excise will be announced in September and later in the year.
Chairman of the Consumers Association, Michael Kilcoyne, says the increases don't make sense after the Government predicted a budget surplus of eight billion Euro for 2023.
