Non-essential sites were closed until May.
Production activity in the construction sector increased by 7.7 per cent in the second quarter of this year, according to new CSO figures.
Non-essential sites were closed in the first three months due to Covid-19, and only reopened on a phased basis in spring.
The figures also show a 26 per cent increase in production in the second quarter compared to the same period in 2020, when non-essential sites were closed until mid-May.
