There are over 900,000 people on waiting lists across Ireland, of whom over 11,000 are at Naas General Hospital.

The Department of Health has published a new Waiting List Action Plan.

The Health Minister says it's aimed at dealing with the impact of the pandemic and the cyber-attack on scheduled care this year.

Maximum wait time targets will be introduced, along with improved access to data across the health system.

Minister Stephen Donnelly has promised the HSE will give the new plan to reduce waiting lists the 'same intense focus' as COVID-19 and the vaccine rollout
