Doctors Call For Hospital Creches To Help Gender Equality

IMO finds women outnumbered 3 to 2 in consultancy roles.

Doctors are calling for creches and breastfeeding rooms to be added to hospitals to encourage more women into speciality posts.

A gender equality survey by the Irish Medical Organisation shows men outnumber women 3 to 2 in consultancy roles.

It says most women work in areas like General Practice and Psychiatry.

Roscommon GP Madeleine Ni Dhalaigh says more needs to be done to encourage them into speciality roles in hospitals:
