Ireland is 'at the bottom of the league' when it comes to investing in childcare.
That's according to Early Childhood Ireland, which wants the government to double its spending in the area over the next six years.
In its pre-Budget submission, the organisation, which represents nearly 4,000 childcare providers, says funding of 970 million euro would be required by 2028.
