It has been just over two weeks since Mr Justice Brian O’Moore decided to impose daily fines on Enoch Burke if he refused to purge his contempt for an order to stay away from Wilson’s Hospital School in Co Westmeath where he used to work as a teacher until his dismissal last month for gross misconduct.
The position was due to reviewed before Mr Justice O’Moore today, but the case was deferred earlier this week.
Despite that, Enoch showed up today and tried unsuccessfully to make an application to the court. He refused to leave, the guards were called and he was physically removed from the courtroom.
His sister Ammi was removed by a female garda soon afterwards and the siblings remained outside the courtroom until about 2.30pm.
After they were removed, Mr J O’Moore then turned his attention to the 50+ matters that were actually on his list. He acknowledged the litigants before him whom he said had patiently waited their turn and been in line to be heard.
