Former One Direction star Liam Payne has died at the age of 31.

The father of one reportedly fell from the balcony of a hotel in Argentina, where he'd been staying with his girlfriend.

They went their separate ways in 2015.

Soon after he and former X Factor judge Cheryl Cole had a son called Bear.

Liam said Bear "constantly inspires him".

In 2019 he opened up about his mental health struggles.

Liam was in Argentina, and it's reported he was there to see his former band mate and Mullingar man Niall Horan, who played in the capital two weeks ago.

Last night he was active on his social media, not long before its reported he fell from a balcony a his hotel.

Police say he had serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Reports suggest he had been acting erratically leading up to his death.

We've yet to hear from former band mates but tributes from celebrities like Olly Murs, Paris Hilton and Jedward.
