There's usually a 20% increase in the number of burglaries during Winter
Gardai have issued a warning about burglaries, ahead of the clocks going back on Sunday.
They say the number of burglaries typically increases by 20 per cent during the winter months.
The hours of 4 to 9pm are the busiest for burglars, while Thursday, Friday and Saturday are the days most likely for burglaries to occur during the winter.
However burglary and similar offences figures dropped by over 34 per cent in 2020.
While this year, there was a drop of over 37 per cent in quarter 2 compared to the same time in 2020.
