Former Scottish National Party CEO
The husband of former Scottish First Minister and SNP leader Nicola Sturgeon has been arrested in connection with the ongoing investigation into the funding and finances of the party.
Police Scotland said a 58-year-old man, understood to be Peter Murrell, a former SNP chief executive, is in custody and is being questioned by detectives.
The investigation is investigating what happened to more than £600,000 pounds raised by Scottish independence campaigners in 2017, but was missing from the party's filed accounts.
Nicola Sturgeon resigned as party leader and Scotland First Minister last month.
