A man got on a plane without a passport or boarding pass at Dublin Airport earlier this week.
A 48 year old man, boarded an Aer Lingus flight from Dublin to Birmingham on Monday without travel documernts and was fined €700.
He was charged with trespassing with intent to commit an offence and with failure to produce a valid passport or similar document as a non-national in the State.
The man was fined €350 for each separate offence.
He went through security, passed the staff at the gate and boarded the plane in Terminal 2.
Boarding passes at Terminal 2 are checked manually by a staff member, while an automated system is in place in Terminal 1.
According to Independent.ie, Airport Police removed the man from a seat on board the 7:05pm flight to Birmingham.
He appeared before the Criminal Courts of Justice in Dublin yesterday morning.
