The Transport Minister says all Government Departments have a responsibility to 'be flexible' if they have access to empty public lands.

Eamon Ryan says using under-utilised sites to build cost-rental and affordable housing is a way to bring down land costs.

It's reported Minister Ryan and his Green Party colleagues have expressed concerns new rules against investment funds block buying housing would not apply to apartments.

Eamon Ryan says the Government is treating the housing crisis in the same way as the pandemic:
